Pharma Research accepts that authors may use generative AI tools such as ChatGPT to improve the language of a manuscript. The following rules apply.

Authors

• AI tools cannot be listed as authors, because they cannot take responsibility for the work.
• Any use of AI beyond basic spelling and grammar checks must be disclosed in the Methods or Acknowledgements, naming the tool and how it was used.
• AI must not be used to create or alter data, images or results.
• Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality and references of the whole manuscript.

Reviewers and editors

Manuscripts are confidential. Reviewers and editors must not upload a manuscript, or any part of it, to a generative AI tool, and must not use AI to write review reports or decision letters.
